This paper presents the solution to utilizing a hybrid of wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar power system with a backup battery to provide feasible and reliable electric power for a specific remote mobile base station located at East Bale Zone, Ethiopia.
The communication base station installs solar panels outdoors, and adds MPPT solar controllers and other equipment in the computer room. The power generated by solar energy is used by the DC load of the base station computer room, and the insufficient power.
It integrates solar panels, wind, diesel backup, and intelligent batteries to ensure reliable, continuous operation of telecom base stations. This efficient, green energy system meets modern telecom power needs and promotes sustainable development in line with global emission.
During peak hours (17:00 - 23:00), the extractive industry will be charged 226 fils/kWh, large industry 130 fils/kWh, medium industry 79 fils/kWh, and the telecommunications sector 152 fils/kWh.
